Microblading

If you find yourself tired of spending time and money to define, fill in and shape sparse eyebrows every day, we have a solution for you. Schedule your consultation with one of our experts for micro-blading, the popular, long-term solution to thin brows.

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a “permanent cosmetic” procedure that enhances the look of your eyebrows, adding definition with a look of natural hair. While it often falls into the permanent makeup category, it’s actually not truly permanent since results last for a few years, unlike traditional permanent tattoos.

Microblading is a personalized cosmetic procedure that employs the skills of different style techniques to achieve your desired look. You may want the look of hair strokes, a softer powder feel or a combination of both. The depth of fullness can vary from light to dark in an ombre fade. Your brow artist will help you decide what’s possible for you.

Benefits of Microblading

  • Fuller brows overall
  • Defined look
  • Fills in missing spaces
  • Doesn’t wash off or smear
  • Natural look of hair strokes
  • Lasts 1 – 2 years
  • Fades to a natural color

Microblading vs. Tattoo

The first difference to note between microblade and tattoo brows is how long the results last on your skin. Longevity is due to the differences between the types of ink and devices used.

Traditional tattooing requires using a tattoo gun and liquid ink, which results in brows that appear flat and look less realistic. Although they have the benefit of being permanent, tattoo ink does fade over time and into a less-than-natural blue-green color. We don’t offer this service.

Microblade artists use a blade made of tiny, barely visible needles to draw hair-like strokes along your brows by hand while depositing pigment into your skin. This is what creates the look of natural brow hairs identical to the hair growth pattern of the surrounding eyebrow hair. We mix these pigments to match a tone that looks most natural for you and will simply fade to a lighter version of the color used over time.

What’s a Microblading Procedure Like?

Once you’ve decided on what you’re looking to achieve from microblading – fullness levels and shaping – your procedure will begin. The process typically takes around 2 – 3 hours, and you’ll be comfortable the entire time. Prepare to relax.

First, we map the perfect brow shape and placement with our special measuring tools. The goal is a maximum balance to fit the shape of your face and enhance your own beauty.

Next, a numbing cream is applied to your brow area to reduce any unpleasantness that could occur. Blades will be scraping the top layers of your skin, so there is the possibility of light pain, and we will reduce any that we can. You then rest for a few minutes while we wait for the numbing cream to work.

Next, the blading work begins. Your brow artist creates your look, which takes up the bulk of your appointment time. Once your session is complete, we will apply a salve for protection and healing. You then head home with a list of proper care instructions to maintain the look and health of your new brows.

What’s the Recovery Like?

The following week or two will require some extra care. You’ll avoid wetting, scrubbing or picking at your eyebrows as they transform into your final look. Don’t apply any products or salves other than what we give you. You’ll also need to be careful about exposure to sun and or exercise that may cause sweat to fall down your forehead.

You’ll notice light scabbing and a dark color appearance for the first few days. They may be thicker than you’re used to as the pigment settles into your new brow shape. Don’t worry – the color you see when your wounds fully heal will be your actual result. Continue to avoid harsh scrubbing and products.

In six weeks, you’ll return for a mandatory touchup where any less-than-perfect sections are addressed. The appointment will mimic your initial one but expect it to take less time. Continue proper care and enjoy the results until your refresher appointment in 1 – 2 years.

How Long Does Microblading Last?

Typical microblading results last between 18 to 30 months. Depending on your skin type, the aftercare you provide and how often you go in for touch-ups.

Who is a Good Candidate for Microblading?

If you’ve lost volume and definition in your eyebrows, you should consider microblading as an option for fuller brows. We use pigments to match any hair color, and since it’s not a one-size-fits-all procedure, we customize your brows just for you. We may even be able to cover scars or other larger missing sections of hair.

Unfortunately, if you have very oily skin and large pores, you might not be a candidate for microblading. The overproduction of oils tends to dilute the pigments and fade them much faster.

Some mature skin is not conducive to good results since it can be pretty thin and be more susceptible to permanent scarring. Wrinkles and fine lines blur blade strokes. Anyone who scars easily or gets keloids would also want to avoid a microblading procedure.

The types of skin that tend to have the best results with microblading include dry skin with tiny pores, normal to combination skin with small pores and normal to oily skin with medium pores.
