Your Bridal Beauty Timeline
Let’s face it: wedding planning can be stressful. There are countless decisions to make and the stakes are high. We know you have a lot on your mind, so we want our part of your journey to the altar to be as seamless and enjoyable as possible.
To that end, we’ve crafted a suggested timeline for booking beauty services leading up to the main event.
12 Months Before Your Wedding
Skincare Consultation
Begin with a skincare consultation to address any specific concerns you have and get your complexion into tip-top shape. Healthy, glowing skin takes time, so the earlier you begin, the better.
6-9 Months Before Your Wedding
Hair Color and Cut Trial
If you’re considering a new hair color or cut for your wedding, now is the time to try it out. This allows ample time to adjust or refine the look.
Preliminary Hair and Makeup Trials
Schedule a preliminary trial to explore different styles and looks with our artists.
First-Time Injectables
If you’re planning to try Botox or fillers for the first time, don’t wait too long. It’s best to have your first treatment when there is plenty of time for it to wear off if you don’t like the results.
Stick to Your Skincare Routine
Cleanse, target concerns and moisturize every morning and night. Don’t forget to wear sunscreen daily and exfoliate two or three times a week. If you’ve been slacking on your skincare, now is the time to develop a more strict regimen.
4-5 Months Before Your Wedding
Facials and Skin Treatments
If you haven’t already, start regular facials, chemical peels or other recommended skin treatments to ensure your skin is in its best condition. Remember, consistency is key.
Body Treatments
Looking your best for your big day doesn’t stop at your neck. Body contouring treatments, such as Emsculpt NEO, Emtone or Vanquish ME, can help you feel confident from head to toe.
2-3 Months Before Your Wedding
Final Hair and Makeup Trial
Have your final hair and makeup trials. Bring along your headpiece or veil if you have them, and take photos in different lighting to see how you’ll look on the day.
Waxing
Begin your waxing routine to ensure your skin adjusts and avoid any reactions close to the wedding.
1 Month Before Your Wedding
Final Hair Color and Cut
Get your last haircut and color touch-up. This timing allows your hair to settle into the perfect style.
Final Skin Services
Start to wind down your in-office skin treatments. It’s especially important to suspend any invasive or irritating treatments that could inflame or injure your skin.
1 Week Before Your Wedding
Nails
Schedule a manicure and pedicure for fresh, polished nails.
Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning is a quick, no-downtime way to exfoliate your skin and remove peach fuzz. This can help ensure you have the smoothest possible canvas for makeup application.
Brows & Lashes
Look to tint, lift, fill or extend? Our lash and brow services ensure your eyes are a focal point on your wedding day.
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I book a trial run for my bridal hair and makeup?
We highly recommend hair and makeup trials. We want to make sure you’re in love with every detail down to the last lash and curl, as well as feel comfortable with the artists you will be spending so much time with on your wedding day. This is your chance to get an expert perspective on looks that suit your skin tone and type, facial structure, and hair length and texture.
How far in advance should I book my bridal hair and makeup trial?
We suggest booking your trial at least three months prior to your wedding day. Many brides like to coordinate their trial with a special occasion, like an engagement photoshoot, dress fitting or bridal shower.
How can I make the most of my hair or makeup trial run?
Collect images of hair and makeup looks you love. Bring them to your appointment to help your artists get a clear idea of your preferred style.
If possible, wear something white to your trial. This helps you see how the makeup and hair will look against your wedding dress. If you have your veil or hair accessories, bring them along too.
After your trial, take photos in various lighting conditions to see how your hair and makeup will look in different settings. Wear your look for a full day to see how well it holds up and whether any adjustments are needed for comfort or longevity. Write down what you loved or what you’d like to change so you can share it with us.
How far in advance should I book my bridal hair and makeup services?
As soon as you can! We recommend booking when you have chosen your wedding date and booked your venue, as this guarantees we will be available when you need us and helps us design a look that suits the setting. Most brides book their wedding hair and makeup six months to one year in advance, but we may be available on shorter notice if needed.
What if I’m not used to getting my hair and makeup done? Will I feel comfortable?
We know that not everyone is accustomed to wearing makeup or being styled professionally. It’s perfectly normal to have concerns about feeling comfortable and authentic — we want you to feel totally at ease and absolutely in love with your wedding look! Perhaps you prefer a subtle touch, or maybe you’re enamored with more glamor — either way, we listen attentively to your preferences and comfort level. You can look stunning no matter where you fall on the beauty preferences spectrum.
Say ‘I Do’ to a Once-in-a-Lifetime Look
