What to Expect When Getting Eyelash Extensions
An eyelash extension treatment takes about an hour or two to complete initially. Fill treatments take a bit less and can sometimes be completed within minutes. But other than that, the same process is involved in both treatments.
We suggest coming to your scheduled appointment makeup-free and with clean skin. This will make the process of applying eyelash extensions easier and ensure the lashes fit properly. Otherwise, there is not much preparation involved.
Treatment starts with a quick consultation, where we will discuss what type of extensions you prefer and see which type best fits your natural lashes and features. Once you are ready for treatment, you will lie down on a padded table. You will also need to keep your eyes closed for the duration of the treatment.
Your provider starts by taping your lower lashes down with white paper tape, providing a stable foundation for the extensions. They will then dip each extension into lash glue and apply it to your natural lashes, one at a time. The reason this treatment takes so long to complete is that up to 150 extensions are used per eye.
What to Expect During a Lash Lift
A lash lift is a slightly simpler treatment that usually takes up to an hour to complete, often less.
After your initial consultation, your provider will ask you to lie down on a padded table. They will glue your lower lashes and place a silicone rod above your upper lashes. Once everything is in place, your provider applies a lifting solution followed by a holding solution with a brush applicator to help your lashes hold their shape. A lash lift may also involve tinting the lashes to further enhance them.
